Applications are being accepted through January 11, 2019 for the Spring 2019 Cottonwood Art Festival to be held on May 4-5, 2019 in Cottonwood Park at Richardson, TX. The award-winning festival is a juried show for which artists must apply and be selected by the jury. This three-step selection process narrows the field to approximately 240 artists who are invited to show their work. Artists will be notified of their status on January 25, 2019. A featured artist will also be chosen, whose work will be used to promote the season’s festival.

Artists are invited to submit work in up to two of 15 categories. A non-refundable jury fee of $30 and five images, including one booth shot, are required for each application. The application form is available on Zapp through midnight on January 11, 2019.

Sculptor Denise Greenwood-Loveless has participated in Cottonwood Art Festival since 2011. “This is one of my most favorite shows and they treat the artists like royalty,” says the owner of Art of Greenwood.

Sponsored by the City of Richardson, Cottonwood Art Festival welcomes artists on Friday with dinner and entertainment, flexible set-up times on Thursday and Friday, Boy Scouts on hand to assist artists with set up and take down, and an artist hospitality area with snacks, chilled water and private restrooms. A festival mobile app and on-site ATM make it easy for browsers to find artists and become buyers.

Artists have access to discounted hotel rates at a host hotel, 24-hour security and police and free parking.  Upon acceptance to the show, booth fees of $475 are due by February 8, 2019. A limited number of double-booths are available for $850 and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Electricity is available for $80 and is also limited.
